My therapeutic orientation is as unique as you are. I believe in utilizing approaches in psychotherapy that allow you to measure change and improvement in your overall mental health, otherwise known as evidence-based practices. These are clearly specified treatment approaches that have shown to be effective with certain populations. I am a Certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Specialist (CCTBS). Some of my approaches include the following:
*Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Negative patterns of thought about the self and the world are
challenged in order to alter unwanted behavior patterns, or treat mood disorders such as depression.
*Schema Therapy
Maladaptive defenses developed in childhood are identified and changed to stop self-defeating life patterns of pain.
*Choice Theory/Reality Therapy
Choosing behaviors that satisfy our needs and, at the same time, do not deprive
others of a chance to do the same, creates empowerment and satisfaction.
Self-esteem, sleep struggles, school challenges, sibling rivalry, defiance...raising kids is hard! Learn how to increase connection and decrease conflict; it's easier than you think.
Understand your teen's developing brain and learn how to stay connected during the years when, oftentimes, friends matter most.
Gain insight and tools to manage your mood, life challenges, transitions, relationships and much more.
Increasing communication skills, understanding "we" versus "me," and learning to fight fair can save your relationship.
Learn and understand what draws you to certain "types," why the process of dating can be so painstakingly difficult, and how to succeed at picking a good match.
